The brand of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine was illegally used in Kremenchuk
The initiative group headed by Pavlo Chernysh (who resides in Kremenchuk) now is collecting signatures to stop the authority of the MP Vasyl Gavrylyuk, who was elected in Kremenchuk. Vasyl Gavrylyuk was accused in ignoring voters’ appeals and problems, poor implementation of his electoral program. The group is planning to collect 6000 signatures, which makes a half of the turnout he got in 2002.
Poltava oblast branch of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine is deeply concerned with a fact that Pavlo Chernysh represents himself as a member of Kremenchuk branch of the CVU. According to the information submitted by the CVU branch Mr. Chernysh has never been the member of Kremenchuk branch of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine. The surname Chernysh has never been registered in the lists of volunteers who took part in the observation campaigns during the whole period of existence of the branch (the lists of other organizations also were checked).
According to some information Mr. Chernysh belongs to Kremenchuk Club of Voters, which was established long time before the CVU was created. The Club didn’t function, though was registered and Mr. Chernysh was using the name of the CVU to support his initiative with powerful brand or just to compromise the NGO CVU.
Anyway, Poltava oblast branch of the CVU officially states that the mentioned above person used the name of the organization in illegal way, and states that the initiative to call the MP Gavrylyuk off was just a local initiative and has nothing in common with CVU decisions.
