20 July, 2008 a meeting on election-related issues was held in Vienna, Austria. Yevgen Poberezhny, Committee of voters of Ukraine executive director, took part in the meeting together with domestic election observers organizations’ representatives from different countries.

CVU Executive director Yevgen Poberezhny participates in John Smith Fellowship program follow-up in Tbilisi, Georgia. Each John Smith Fellow produces an action plan at the end of the Programme outlining how lessons learned in the UK can be applied in their own countries.

Committee of voters of Ukraine Head of the Board Igor Popov joined OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) election assessment mission to Italy. The mission for the 13-14 April parliamentary elections, led by Ambassador Audrey Glover (United Kingdom), includes 10 experts from 10 OSCE participating States.

Yevgen Poberezhny, Committee of voters of Ukraine Executive Director, takes part in the first annual International Fundraising Festival. The Festival takes place from March 26th to 28th, 2008 in Prague, Czech Republic.

On 28th of December election observation mission of ENEMO (European Network of Elections Monitoring Organization) started election observation on the Extraordinary Elections of the President of Georgia, due to be held January 5, 2008. Yevgen Poberezhny, CVU Executive director, heads the Mission.

December 16, 2007 early elections to Kyrgyz republic parliament (Zhogorku Kenesh) are held. Committee of voters of Ukraine’ members take part in two international election observation missions.

November 1-3 a second training for short-term observers (STOs) was held in in OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Yurij Kresak, head of Volyn' oblast branch of all-Ukrainian civic organization «The Committee of voters of Ukraine», participated in the training, together with representatives of NGOs, MFAs and CECs from different countries.

Milena Zherdiy, CVU International secretary, covered parliamentary elections in Poland, held October 21, as «Tochka zoru» correspondent. This Sunday, Poles elected their representatives to two chambers of the National Asssembly: Sejm and Senat. The Sejm consists of 460 MPs, elected by party lists in multi-seat constituencies with a 5% threshold for single parties and 8% threshold for coalitions. By the result of elections, Civic Platform (PO), formally in opposition, won with 209 seats, the so far ruling Law and Justice party (PiS) got 166 seats, Left and Democrats (LiD) came third with 53 mandates, and Polish People's Party (PSL) got 31.

ENEMO Annual General Assembly was held in Kyiv October 4. At the meeting, representatives of 18 organizations-members of European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations discussed ENEMO annual report, presented by Secretary General Costel Popa, evaluation of ENEMO missions to Ukraine 2006 and 2007, and future plans. Yevgen Poberezhny, Executive Director, represented the Committee of voters of Ukraine.

Igor Popov, Committee of voters of Ukraine Chairman of the Board, takes part in Session 14 of the 2007 Human Dimension Implementation Meeting, held in Warsaw, Poland.

CVU Executive director Yevgen Poberezhny took part in the John Smith Fellowship - an intensive, five-week programme on good governance, democracy and social justice. The Programme combines a seminar series, placements and visits designed to give an insight into democratic practice. Core themes include good governance, the rule of law, social justice, tolerance and the democratic accountability.

On the third of June, 2007, local elections took place in the Republic of Moldova. The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) deployed an Election Observation Mission (EOM) to Moldova on 24 April. Viktor Zuyev from the CVU Odessa oblast organization took part in the ODIHR Mission as Short term observer. Milena Zherdiy, CVU international secretary, works with ODIHR as a Long term observer.

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) today deployed an Election Support Team to Turkmenistan ahead of the 11 February presidential election. The team, led by Ambassador Lubomir Kopaj of Slovakia, is in Turkmenistan at the invitation of the Turkmen authorities. The CVU Executive director Evgen Poberezhny participates in the mission.

An international conference on election observation issues tooks place in Mixico city December 5-7. The conference was organized by UNO. About 200 representatives of 15 countries take part in the event. Europe is represented by several experts, among them – Igor Popov, CVU Chairman. Participants discussed modern observation technologies, lessons learned from Mexican electionsv, new challanges for observers’ work.

November 23-24 OSCE/ODIHR conducted a first training for short-term observers (STOs)/ The training was held in OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. 37 representatives of NGOs, MFAs, CECs from 15 participated in the event. From Ukraine, CVU international secretary Milena Zherdiy and CEC member Valeriy Sheludko took part.
