On July 3, CVU presented a voting advice application PROвибір. The tool compare your opinions on statements with the positions of the different parties running in the elections. This is a very useful tool for voter education, informing the public in a playful manner about their choices ahead of the vote.
The online tool is available via the link http://provybir.in.ua
The tool was developed by the NGO "Committee of Voters of Ukraine" with the support of GIZ and technical support of NGO ProDemos in the framework of preparation for the extraordinary Parliamentary elections in Ukraine on July 21, 2019.
Director General of the CVU Oleksiy Koshel made an opening statement. He stressed that the tool presents the positions of different political parties on the most relevant issues for young people and this project had already been successfully implemented in 23 countries of Europe before it arrived in Ukraine.
Denys Rybachok, the CVU analyst, stressed that the project aimed at promoting an informed choice of citizens and involving young people in the elections and to provide voters with an instrument that will facilitate it. An analyst at CVU said that the elections should be a competition of ideas, not commercials on TV. The PROвибір tool allows citizens in a convenient format understand the positions of political parties on various issues. In general, the instrument presents the views of the political forces on 30 relevance to Ukraine issues. Statements contained in the instrument are divided into several different blocks: foreign policy, security and defense, economic policy, education, medicine and culture.
Information: PROвибір is a non-partisan tool developed by the youth in collaboration with experts to help with informed choice on the basis of analysis of programs and statements of political parties. The tool allows you to compare your views with the position of political parties, responding to 30 statements, and see which party matches you the most.
The tool is not intended to collect data on the political preferences of citizens and does not store such information. It also does not directly determine the political choice of citizens, but only designed to help voters determine their choice based on the responses of political parties to the proposed statements.
